Great picks, easy to use, created motivations for me to watch a film per day
mubi provides great content with a possibility of downloading movies to your device and watching them offline. unfortunately, often the offline option doesnt work -- the app crashes as soon as you open it. hope they will fix this glitch a.s.a.p.!
Beyond the smartly curated choices in Independent and World Cinema are three unexpected benefits: one, I often have little time time to watch as much as Id like, but everything will eventually come back; two, I dont always like the films I see, which means my taste is challenged and broadened; three; the selections are of varied lengths and not driven by formula or commercial demands: a film lovers dream!
Overall I love this app. Great variety, with the ability to download and watch offline while traveling. Only gripe is that the app pegs your location and you cant select your language of choice.
Mubis app is stellar. It lets you watch movies on your phone, and it does so flawlessly. This is a one-trick pony whose trick is awesome.
Outside of Hulus Criterion Collection page, you arent going to find a more varied selection of movies and short films. Because of its unique licensing structure, there are always movies available that havent been officially released in the US.
it introduced me to Chantal Akerman. Nuff said.
Excellent alternative!
Cant even open it up
Quite simply: the best. In content and design.
I love Mubi just as much as the next person, but the app is not worth 5 stars. I appreciate that I can watch these movies at any given moment on my phone, but what makes Mubi different (besides content) from other streaming sites and apps are the users, curators, and the community behind it. I wish that I could access my profile and search and basically use it the way I use the site. I love Mubi, but the app is not nearly as intriguing as the desktop site.
Great films are always waiting at MUBI! This is the content provider Ive been waiting for! The interface is really well designed. MUBI is a art house theater experience in an era of few art house theaters.
I mostly use the app to see whats new. If Im interested Ill watch it on my laptop or Apple TV. Its unfortunately not available on older Apple TVs, and I upgraded specifically for the Mubi service as Im not a fan of movie watching on my laptop. Thats a testament to how much I love Mubi. The service is cheap for what it offers -- a curated list of movies that range from anything to everything. At any given time there are 30 films available to watch. Every day the film thats been available the longest is replaced with a new offering. I have discovered some true gems via this, my favorite streaming service.
Great curated content. Theres always a film I never knew existed without having to search endless, expected titles.
I really wish you could view your profile/ratings/watchlist etc. and search films like the desktop version.
Loving the Herzog marathon.
mubi is great.the app works flawlessly. much better than net***xs. films can be downloaded in advance for offline movie time (im not stuck with the planes selection anymore!). love it
The advertisemnet for this app looks great but it wont completely download to my 6plus iphone. It will give me an icon but wont open.
Ive had MUBI for about 5 months now and have watched great movies from the "Silent Era" to current classics and they never disappoint! Their International Classics are my favorites - their App never crashes
I love the whole 30-day concept. Cool cool cool app.
